Safari problem

Trying to download .pkg but safari says no. Any help appreciated.

Safari can/will only download certain file formats...you might need to use a third party app, such as GoodReader or iCab...

And then you'll need an app that will actually open/decompress a .pkg file.

Since this is usually an OSX file format containing a program or installation package, I don't see what good having the file on the iPad will do. It won't run or install the program.
