Safari Header bar on ipad

The header bar has gone black with white lettering instead of the other way around. I have no idea how this happened but I wish to revert it to what it was.
Can some kind person tell me how please?

Open a new tab or tap the address bar. At the left side (new tab: bottom, keyboard: top left), tap "Private".
