I find the Linksys routers the easiest to install and the iPads seem to like them also. I have the E3000 but the E1000 works just as well if your house is not too big. Very simple instructions with maybe 5 steps total with pictures.

Not sure where you are located, but I had same questions and went for Orange in Uk (London). Some great deals around back in November last year and Orange came out ahead. Not disappointed at all and service has been very good. And wife happy too as she can now use her works laptop around the place!

I got the Cisco Valet. I had all three of my computers up and running in less than 15 minutes. It uses WAP2. I have not had any problems with it and my iPad hooked up with no problems.

My Netcomm router modem was up and running inside 10-15 minutes, and has been trouble-free so far.
