Rotation locked on email

Ove the iPad 2, been using for a xouole of months. Today, out of the blue, the rotation is locked, but on,y on email. Other apps work fine. I checked the switch, and that is fine, and i can find no other settings changes.

Any ideas?

Has the switch failed?
Change it in settings to 'mute', set to mute and see f icon shows, otherwise it's going to be a hard reset jobby me thinks ?

Try the usual 'fix all problems' power-completely-off, power-on (hold down the Power switch until the slider control appears). It fixes a lot of problems, too, if the other suggestions don't work.
