Problem opening apps after upgrade to iOS5 on iPad 1

Hi, could anyone help. I synced and updated my iPad 1 and now when I tap on an app it doesn't do anything. Safari etc works fine. Have I done something wrong? Steve

I had the same issue when I upgraded yesterday. After I shut down all apps, shut down iPad and restarted, everything worked fine.
