Other Person Cannot hear me on Skyoe

Please can you help. When I Skype from my iPad 2 , I can see and hear the other person, the other person can see me but not hear me. there is no sound from me. I have deleted Skype on my laptop, reinstalled Skype on iPad but still nothing works. We are heading off overseas tomorrow and I need it sorted, Thanks

Are you using the built-in microphone in the iPad? Or an external one?

Have you checked your mic? Maybe download a voice recorder and make sure the sound comes through when you play back. I presume the person at the other end has volume up! You do not need an external mic at all.
