I sent the following to Jigsaw Explorer
Whenever I try to play, I get the message, "This application is using a significant amount of power. Closing it will improve performance." Also, after a few minutes of play, capturing the pieces becomes difficult, and movement jerky.

Please leave the following line(s) in this email in order to help us provide you with a more accurate answer to your question:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/15.1 Safari/605.1.15

They replied:

Hi Bob,

The symptoms you described indicate the Safari browser has probably dropped support for hardware graphics acceleration for your Mac model. That happens when your Mac ages beyond a certain point. You can try the Chrome web browser, but it may have dropped hardware acceleration support for your old Mac model too (or might do so in the near future).

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Welcome to iPad Forums!

I‘ve moved your post to the Off Topic forums. We discuss iPads and the hard- and software related to them everywhere else.

You‘re trying to solve these puzzles via Safari on a Mac, as your post shows. Which model is it, and which software is installed? Is it capable of running the latest one, macOS Monterey?

It looks like you‘ll need a different browser, not Safari. Chrome or Firefox might work, depending on your hardware.

Thanks to your query, I have just spent half an hour solving my first online Jigsaw puzzle! I used Safari on an oldish iPad Air 2. Have you any newer devices than your Mac?

Not a traditional jigsaw experience, but I rather like the app Patterned. I find it a semi-relaxing way to wind down. Only ”semi” because I sometimes get fixated on completing the puzzle without making any mistakes. Free if you have Arcade. Well, not really free. More like you’re already paying for it.
