No mail

I pad was working well then suddenly wouldn't accept any mail, although continues to send emails

Are you using POP or IMAP as your receive email protocol?

(You can check by going to 'Settings', 'Email, Contacts, Calendar', 'Accounts', --- press on the account ---- does it say POP or IMAP?
