New to forum and iPad.

The Safari on the iPad does not resemble the Safari on my PC. There is no feature to add popular web sites? The PC has a bookmark window, maybe not right term, but I can pull the screen up and navigate all my web sites.

Java and Flash are not supported by Apple?

Any tips/experiences/must have apps/etc that you'd like to share?

Not jailbroken and plan not to do that.

Thanks.

To add a bookmark on the iPad in Safari tap on the icon just to the left of the URL field, and choose Add Bookmark.

You can get an idea of how to use Safari by going to this page and viewing the Safari video guide. Apple - iPad - Guided Tours

No Java or Flash in Safari, or most of the other iPad browsers. Apple does not support them. You can get limited access to Flash sites using the Skyfire or Puffin browsers, available in the App Store. Since they run your web pages through a second server to translate them, performance and compatibility vary for each site.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free from

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/...User_Guide.pdf

Also the iPad2 manual is available for pre-order at the Apple iBooks store - available March 11th. It’s free too.
