New to Ipad 2 and I need help!

Hi! I'm glad you found us. Using airplane mode will keep your iPad from trying to find wi-fi. Use setting to find airplane mode and turn it on. You can also just turn wi-fi off in settings. Your iPad will charge very slowly from a computer and it will not indicate that it is charging. You should use the wall charger that came with the iPad to charge the iPad.

As Czevski has said your computer will only trickle charge an iPad and if you happen to be using the iPad also at the time, depending on what you are accessing on the iPad you may be using more charge than what the charging rate is. Always best to use a wall socket for this.
