New to forum, new to ipad

Hi, I'm from Alberta Canada, I've been a pc man since computes were brought into homes, I thought I would try getting into apple. I get the easy parts like getting on the net, downloading games. BUT I am having trouble with the hard things, like iTunes, that is why I joined this forum, to get answers to things that I what to do on my IPad but not sure what to do.
I've been trying to put pictures onto my IPad from my pc laptop, Windows 7. I did a search, it told me to go to ITunes. On the left select IPad, but it's not there, and all I see is download music. I need help, anyone.b
