New owner of the iPad, and question

I just purchased this handy dandy crack iPad, I cannot put it down!

Question I don't know war I did but I have a grey screen for my mil and cannot retrieve any mail

Does anyone know what I did and how can I get my mail back up

Try a re-boot...

Push the on/off button, and the main button (the one you use for everything) at the same time and hold.... until the slider appears. Slide to turn you iPad all the way off. After it shuts down (about 15 seconds or so) press and hold the on/off button until you see the little Apple icon. After it all comes back up try your email again.....

If that does not work, you may have to do a restore in iTunes....
