Hello everyone! My name is Shannon and I am new to this forum. I am also new to using Apple products and I just received my first iPad Mini over the holidays. I'm learning quite a bit but I have questions regarding book downloads. I have an amazon account and I've also downloaded the Kindle app. I looked up a book I was interested in purchasing but it says that this mobile app does not support digital downloads. It tells me to add the item to my wish list and view/purchase it from my PC. If I do this, will I be able to transfer it to my iPad and if so, how would I do it? Is there a different app I should be using besides the Kindle?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Shannon

Hi Shannon--Welcome to the Forum.

Once you purchase it online from Amazon, just click "read now" and it should open up on your iPad kindle app. See this link:Amazon.com Help: Buy & Download from Kindle for iPad iPhone and iPod touch

If you already purchased a book from Amazon and it is in your Kindle Cloud, you can go to your Amazon profile settings to manage your Digital account. From there, you can choose a book to be delivered to our iPad. See this link:Amazon.com Help: Deliver to Kindle for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much for the info! I think the problem was that I was using the Amazon app. I used Safari and went to the Amazon website, logged in and looked up my book again. It now gives me the option to deliver it to my Android or my iPad :)

Thanks again!!

You got it! Yes--you need to use the safari browser in order to get your books. Glad it worked!!

Enjoy! :)

A handy trick:

Go to this URL in the Safari app: https://www.amazon.com/gp/kindle/kcp/tos.html#stos-bookmark

And sign in with your Amazon ID.

This is a special version of the Kindle books store for mobile devices. I looks nice on an iPad and results in nice icon when you do go through the next steps.

Tap the share icon (box with an up arrow) and choose Add to Home Screen.

This adds a bookmark icon to the Home Screen that you can tap on to go directly to the site. It still uses Safari, but saves you a step.

Drag the icon next to your Kindle reader icon.

Now you have a quick way to go buy a book, then jump back the reader app and download it to read.

It's only a minor improvement over going to Safari and navigatin through the entire Amazon site to buy books, but sometimes the little things are all you need.
