Need recommendations for software

I need an HTML generator/editor. Before I could hand code, I used Hot Dog Pro for Windows. Now that I am on an iPad and can't remember how to code I need a program.

Prefer free BUT will pay if I can try it first.

Recommendations, suggestions, ideas, warnings?
