Looking for video to iPad converter!!

Hi I'm looking for a decent free programme so I can convert movies that I have on my pc (running on windows) to my iPad2.i have used one but the quality was crap!! Does anyone know of one which is good quality and easy to use( I'm new to the iPad!!) thanks

What size are the converted movies? I tried a different one and the converted movies were almost 10gb, too large for me.
