iTunes isn't synced properly with my iPad

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that I should be able to see my iTunes account the same as it looks on my computer. I also thought I should be able to download my music to my iPad without having to use my computer. It doesn't show my music, the only stuff I have on my iPad is what I had already downloaded. If I want to download any other music I have to connect my iPad to my computer.

No thats not right mate, if you go to iTunes and go to purchases, you can download all your music that you have paid for in the past.

I can only see songs I've purchased nothing else. I have quite a lot of music that I downloaded from my cd's but it doesn't show it. I thought that I should be able to see my iTunes account exactly as it looks on my computer.

You would need itunes match for your non itunes purchased music to be available in icloud, this hasnt launched yet in the UK.
