To make your volume/sound louder? On movie trailers and most YouTube, I can barely hear.

Since you are using a jailbroken iPad 1, you can try an app in Cydia called "Volume Booster 4.0". It doesn't specifically say that it's for the iPad, but I think it should work. Here is a link for reference: http://areacellphone.com/2010/08/cydia-app-increase-volume-level-jailbreak-iphone/

Just to jump in real quick...
I've just put this on my iPad and yes, it does seem the sound goes louder! I'll be checking it out more (when I don't have to run out the door for an appointment), but, so far, looks promising!
