iPad Wi-Fi and Internet

So I have my Wi-Fi only iPad for the simple reason that I have both BlackBerry and iPhone full of montly MBs traffic that needs to be used.

But I'm thinking, is there a way to use 3G internet on my iPad, with some kind of connector or something?

Jailbreak your iPhone and you can share the Internet with the iPad.

Only the iPhone? Or both?

Because either of them are jailbroken.
