Well my iPad Pro Is 3.5 years old, I recently thought it was giving up the ghost but it proved to be a glitch, Since 18 months old it will only charge with the cable in one orientation which I believe means the pins are worn on one side, it charges up fine, the battery Is at 88% ....
I was all set to get the iPad Pro M5 but I feel maybe I should use this a while longer?
It's tempting though as the M5 looks great ...

Hi PP - I had one of the first iPad Pros (can't remember which model) but replaced w/ a M3 iPad Air - currently I'm using a magnetic adapter in the port - the other end attaches to the USB-C adapter and the two then connect magnetically - cheap investment and maybe worth a try to prolong the use of your older device - Amazon sells a lot of these 'magnetic' power connectors so you may want to check - now, I offer no guranttees =
;) Good luck

Thank you, I did once look into getting one of those magnetic adapters but I saw reports that they can cause issues, so far it charges up perfectly but for that one thing, I'm fighting the temptation to upgrade it as it does everything I need it for, however it's a while since I researched the magnetic adapters so I'll have another look at them.

I have been using one of those magnetic adapters for well over a year now, actually one in all of my usb c devices. I rarely transfer any data or photos via cable, so cannot comment about that as I use them only for charging. One failed a few months ago and I simply replaced I think the piece that plugs into the device, but cannot be absolutely sure which part I replaced. I like them, I can pop it on or off quickly and my female part, that on the cable end is right angle so does not stick out to be knocked off easily. Other than that one glitch they have been very convenient and reliable. The ones I use have a tiny led light that shows when they are connected and charging.

So a few days ago I decided to get the iPad Pro 13’’ M5 2025, I got a good deal, £100 off and am I glad I didn't wait any longer, Apple have raised prices, now this model is £1, 499, up by £200..... Ouch!!!
I'm not sure what other Apple products have gone up in price but this has to hurt their sales figures.

Chip prices have soared over the past several months and most electronics companies have had to raise their prices. This is very unusual for Apple. Unusual enough they actually announced the changes a couple weeks ago in a press release.

It's all over the news, along with break-downs of all the changes.
