Download the iBooks app to your iPad.

Search for iPad from inside the iBooks Store. There are two eBooks that you will find tha are free about the iPad from Apple which are very good.

As you read the iPad eBooks you can select text with you finger and Annotate them with highlight or text notes if you desire. You can also search within the iBooks for what you need to know.
