IPad Mail

I have been given a new Bt internet email account. Despite all my efforts to open it on my iPad, the reaction says my password is in error. I have no problem accessing this email on my PC.
Can anyone help?

On the subject of ipad mail does any1 know a good alternative to the stock mail app? I find some emails are all scrunched together making it unreadable
