Hi and welcome to the Forum!
Yes there would be other businesses on the net who do this and most probably cheaper too, but there are other aspects to consider here also. Was your iPad still under warranty as dropping it would now void that warranty as would having it fixed by a third party. You may also have internal damage that you are not aware of too.....so please do consider Apples offer, I would make an appointment with the genius bar in person and they may offer you a better deal...no harm in trying.
