iCloud took all of my contacts out of Outlook!

There is an iCloud folder with my contacts in it in Outlook.

How can I get my contacts back in Outlook where they belong?

iCloud is going to take some getting used to for many. I gave my old iPad to a SIL, but it is still on my Apple account so I can support her device. Yesterday, I removed all my Safari Bookmarks from that iPad, only to find them gone from my new iPad 60 miles away. So after checking things out, I went into Settings/iCloud and turned off bookmarks. I then reloaded my Bookmarks from my laptop onto my iPad from iTunes. This might apply to what you need.

I went into Outlook and copied the iCloud folder to the contacts folder. It created a sub folder under contacts. I named it 'contacts 2' then directed Outlook to look there. It's not perfect, but it will do.

I don't understand why iCloud did that! It's supposed to be a backup.
