How to change my picture that shows up on apps

On various apps, a different picture of me shows up - my avatar or profile pic. How do I change it?

Without knowing what apps, it is hard to tell. Most apps and services require you to upload an avatar picture individualy.

But if we are talking about the same picture and game apps, then it is likely Game Center. Open the Game Center app, choose the Me tab, and tap on your picture for options to choose, take or delete.
