How to add photos and book from laptop to ipad ?

I. I want to know how to copy movies, books and photos from laptop to my iPad ?

Use ITUNES.. Just Drag your files in itunes then sync....

But I use my iPhone also n connect It to iTunes so wouldn't it create a mess while syncing ?
