Homepage opening up is slow

Hen I turn on my iPad it seems to be opening very slow. When it finally does open when I swipe to get to the desk top, I'm having to swipe it a few times before it finally opens. Sometimes it even shuts off before it opens. Is anyone else having this issue? I hope I described the problem clearly enough.

Try a hard reset.
