Hello & welcome to the forum - 
Go to you user control panel (User CP), then chose 'Edit Profile Picture' - hopefully the dialog box will be self-explanatory - can't remember but some forums require a certain number of posts before allowing you to change your avatar - honestly, I can't remember if that is true here? But, go ahead and give it a try -
