Hi and welcome to the Forum!
Yes I would try a different outlet also.
The IPad Forum is a community of members from all walks of life and from all over the world coming together to share our experiences and to help each other learn about this wonderful piece of technology the Ipad. If you mean computer or other power supply USB plugs, be aware that many older computers and most other USB power supplies do not supply enough power to charge an iPad while it is on. Use the power supply that came with the iPad. If that does not work, by all means contact Apple. Your power supply and cord are covered under warrantee (I'm pretty sure).
