Hello from Texas, My husband gave me an Ipad2, primarily for taking notes.

I use the Notability App and deleted some notes thinking they were backed up. Big mistake,
Is there a way to restore deleted notes?

Unless they were backed up somewhere, they can’t be recovered after deleting. We’re the notes on any other devices?

I thought they were being backed up on the iCloud when I deleted them.
So no they weren't. I didn't understand the iCloud was for sharing only.
Unless I'm mistaken.

iCloud syncs notes from Notability, it doesn’t backup these notes.
It’s possible to backup notes from Notability to online storage automatically, though: Dropbox, Box, OneDrive and Google Drive are supported. If you’ve used one of these services with the app, you might be able to recover your notes from there.
