I just bought iPad for my family. The main reason - our kids. They just love to read interactive books. It's truly amazing to see how technology makes our life more happy.

Yes the games/interactive books are fantastic for kids 2 and up , including us grown up ones.
May I suggest do a search for kids books and games type threads? There are a bunch of threads with titles, reviews, pricing, etc. It may help narrow down the app store time searching.
