What presets should I use when putting films onto my iPad 4 ? Are the 3 and 4's got the same screens

Yes, the screens are the same. Go with the iPad 3 preset.

No conversions, just streaming my already encoded files (various formats) from my NAS. When away, put my viewing on a Wi-Drive for portability.

Yes, wifi at home. I do not connect remotely, but take the Wi Drive with me.

The Wi-Drive creates it's own wifi hotspot, so you just need to join that wifi network. The video files can be in any format so long as you have an app to play said format. I use GoodPlayer and OPlayerHD as my third party video apps.
