Foreign language books in iBooks

Hey guys (and gals),
Does anyone know how (and where) foreign language books can be purchased/acquired in iBooks?
I can read Japanese, and would LOVE to be able to pull up some of my favorite Japanese books alongside my English ones. iTunes doesn't seem to encourage this; is there any to get them? AND, can they even be read on an English platform?
Any information on this woud be welcome.
