Rounsa Cases is a company that makes some really unusual, one-of-a-kind fabric iPad cases, and has a really interesting story to tell as well, about turning lemons into lemonade. Eileen Rounsaville and her son, Brett, were forced to close their 27-year-old family upholstery business as a result of the economic climate, but they turned their loss into a new business, making handmade, self-designed iPad cases with rescued materials from their previous upholstery business, and selling them over the web, at their own site, www.rounsa.com.

Prior to hitting on the idea of designing and manufacturing iPad cases, the Rounsaville's family and friends helped them to pack thousands of fabrics into a truck. Eileen says that she didn't know what she was going to do with them, but she did know that she didn't want to throw them away.
"There were just so many fabrics that I had held on to for years because they were so cool. I didn't want to have to throw them away. It would be such a waste."

Over dinner that evening, Eileen and Brett created the first prototype for their "Rounsa Case" out of three Chinese food placemats and two straw wrappers, and a new company was born, selling iPad cases. Not only do the cases look cool, they also fold back to act as stands. The cases are thin padded pouches with a flexible plastic core for protection, and lock into place as a stand after removing the iPad. Every week new Rounsea Case designs debut on the site, complete with names such as "Joe", "Millie" and "Earl", and their own personality and back story, would you believe?! Check out the site, it's a lot of fun, and will appeal to iPad owners!
