Face time not acknowledging apple Id or password

My face time or imessage for my iPad wont accept my apple Id or password. What do I do?!

Is this a new problem, or have you never been able to use these apps?

Both iMessages and FaceTime were experiencing problems earlier today. Not all users were affected. They should both be working now.
