Error installing IOS 5.1

Hi, need help here.

Tried to upgrade my IPad with the latest OS. Unfortunately a message appeared as "Unable to Install Update. An Erroe occurred installing iOS 5.1".

The same happened when I was last trying to upgrade iOS 5.0. Ended I brought to Apple Store and were charged by the staff $20 for the upgrade.

Gees I didn't know the Apple store charged for this service, first I've heard about it and many have had help here. Are you updating OTA over the air? Or are you plugged in to your PC, either way is possible, although it will take a lot longer connected to a PC and you will need to make sure you have the latest version of iTunes to do this, as it will do the whole update as opposed to incremental changes with OTA. If you're doing it OTA, plug your iPad into a power outlet also while the update is done. Let us know how you would like to proceed.
