English teacher who needs e-reader app...

Hello,

To save money, my high school is planning on having the students download books to either their laptops or an iPad. As an English teacher, my books are filled with highlights and notes and in the margin. Is there an app that I can use that will allow me to make notations? I've looked, and the only one I found is the Nook Study, which won't be releasing its iPad version until late fall.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thank you,

Denise

You can use pretty much all of the "big" e-reader app (iBooks, Kindle, Kobo, etc.) to highlight and make notes. The one thing you can't do is make free-hand notations on the screen/page. So far, I haven't found one that allows that.

So, really, they are all the same - you just have to decide which ecosystem you want to use.

These are some apps which you can use for making notes. I have used them. They are easy to use and you can also highlight some important words by these apps.

Thank you so much for your response. I will definitely look into the three apps that you've mentioned above. I'm playing around with different features.
So far, nothing is easier or more intuitive than importing a book and using Word's insert New Comment feature. I've attached a screen capture. That works the best on my Mac, but I'm uncertain if Word is available for the iPad. I have more research to do, and appreciate your suggestions!
