Email

Hi
New to forum hoping for help.
Recent purchase of ipad2 for delighted wife. All going well but suddenly won't download new emails after checking. Can send ok. Use virgin email account and can find emails on virgin site. Peculiarly downloads to iPhone fine. Have reset switched on and off Any ideas
 
So you're saying it checks for new emails, sees there are some new ones to download, but fails to download them?

It might be worth resetting the app; double-click the Home button to open the multi-task bar, press and hold any icon in the bar until they all start to jiggle, press the upper left hand corner of the Mail app to close it completely, then press the Home button again to close the multi-task bar, then try again...

Let us know if this works...

Thanks Tim but unfortunately not the solution. It goes through the checking for mail cycle but nothing appears yet the iPhone with identical mail settings is working fine. Equally can send ok from iPad without a problem. Outgoing mail server is fast.co.uk and incoming is mail.virgin.net.
All ideas welcome as wife non techie and getting grumpy that I can't fix it!
 
OK - just to be clear. It has previously worked OK - i.e. you have previously been able to download and read emails on your iPad - and this is a new problem that's just started...

Yes all worked fine but as of last Thursday stopped "getting" mail.
Is it worth deleting account and re-entering it again?
