I have an issue with importing mjpeg files from my DSLR. I have 2 videos that i shot recently, and only one of them are viewable on the ipad the other i get a movie icon and i can only import but not view.

Here are the file info:

The file that can be viewed on the ipad
Frame Size & FPS - 1280 x 720, 24fps
Length: 2616 Frames (1m 48s)
Decompressor: Internal Motion JPEG decoder (MJPEG)
Number of key frames: 2616
Min/avg/max/total key frame size: 166568/187040/211816 (4777831k)
Data Rate: 35912 kbps

File that was not viewable on the ipad:
Frame Size & FPS - 1280 x 720, 24fps
Length: 7872 Frames (5m 27s)
Decompressor: Internal Motion JPEG decoder (MJPEG)
Number of key frames: 7872
Min/avg/max/total key frame size: 176120/184694/188456 (1419836k)
Data Rate: 35462 kbps

Any ideas why the last file cant be viewed on the ipad? Same file type and camera.

Thanks

My Camera is a Pentax K-X w/ 720p Video @ 24FPS. I am using a Class 6 SDHC memory card.

Similar Problem

I am having the same issue with my Sony Handycam. Did you ever get a resolution that you could share? That said, I think the Sony shoots in MPEG4 (HD) or MPEG2 (SD).

Thanks
