deleting photos from from my ipad

I am new to the ipad. Mistakenly, I have duplicated my photos and when I check mark the duplicates and then try to delete them, the delete button is frozen. I can"t remove any of the duplicates. Please help!

Are these photos synchronised to your PC with iTunes? Only photos that have not been synchronised with your PC can be deleted on the iPad. The others have to be deleted from the PC first of all and then the iPad resynchronised with the PC.
