Deleting email ....how do you empty the junk and trash folders?

So far I have tried swiping, editing and tapping the trash can. nothing in the guide addresses this issue. I can't believe all the iPad users are deleting junk and trash individually....archaic. HELP...I'm up to 700+ emails

In the ipad email app, under accounts, select the account you want to delete emails.

Go to trash, click edit and then delete all

Re deleting trash

When I go trash and edit, there isn' a delete all tab or button. Now what?
