Cover Lock on/off for Versavu

I just purchased the Targus Versavu for my iPad3. I have the cover lock/unlock switched to on. It does turn on the ipad when I open it and shuts off the ipad when I close the cover, but sometimes when I go to put it in my bag I notice it has turned on again. Is that normal? I have the auto lock set to 2 minutes, so perhaps it won't make a difference in battery life, but I wonder if I should be concerned. Should I just set it to off and manually turn it off and on?

That's what I do. My cover allowed the screen to turn on too many times. In any case, you don't need to turn it right off. Putting it to sleep is sufficient.
