AppleInsider reports today that CNBC has named the late Apple CEO and co-founder, Steve Jobs, as the number 1 person in its “First 25†list of people that have “disrupted industries, sparked change and exercised an influence far beyond their own companies†since 1989, when CNBC was launched.

Referring to Jobs as “Apple’s iVisionary,†CNBC says that Jobs was a “Pioneer. Innovator. Tastemaker. Genius.â€

In second place on the list is Microsoft’s co-founder, Bill Gates, and also included in the list are the likes of Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, eBay and HP CEO Meg Whitman, and Google’s Sergey Brin, Larry Page, and Eric Schmidt.

CNBC announced the full list today, and will also be featuring it in a special program at 7pm EST tonight.

AppleInsider notes that this is just the latest of many posthumous honors awarded Steve Jobs, including the US Postal Service announcing back in February that he would feature on a special commemorative stamp, which is due to be released in 2015.
