"Can't download app"

Both my sons get this message when they try to update their apps and download new ones.

It's in norwegian, but it says

"can't download app
can't be downloaded.

Done | Try again"

I have restarted their ipads, updated the ios, logged off and on appstore.

Anyone who knows what to do?

Hi, welcome to iPF!

Try to reset your iPad: press and hold Home and Power button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Release both and let the device power up on it's own. Resetting this way won't remove data or settings.

Another kind of reset would be to reset your settings (Settings - General - Reset - Reset all Settings). That done, you'll have to look through all settings on your device again and set it up the way you prefer it.
