Okay, while we really need more info (as in, what payment info and where), I believe I can help. You usually see this request when you are paying for something with a credit card. What the vendor wants is that 3-digit code on the back of your credit card, next to your signature line.
Hope that clarifies. If that's not want you need, holler back and we'll take another shot at it.

Depending on the card provider, it can be 4 digit; but Marilyn is most likely correct.
Most sites that ask for this include a what is this? (<- not a real link) link next to the required field.
