I’ve written a book using Google Docs. The files are pdf format right now but I can save the chapters in wordx format.

I’m seeking a free app for saving my book in a format that I can submit to publishers. I will paste each chapter in the app and then save each time I add a chapter. The Kindle requires a certain format that I cannot remember right now.

Suggestions please.

exit: I have the iPad and not the iPad 2.

Pages will export as an ePub, one of the two most popular ebook formats. It even has templates you can use; thought it might take a little experimenting to figure out how to get the best results. I’ve only scratched the surface of this feature.

There are a few other apps for the iPad that will creat ePubs, but I’ve got no experience using them.

The Kindle Direct Publishing site says it can convert from ePub, though it’s not it’s not the preferred format. Here is that link: Supported eBook Formats

It also mentions an app to create kindle formatted books, but does not offer and iPad version; only PC and Mac. I can’t find any iOS apps to create ebooks in the Kindle format.

Thank you very much! The Kindle link says that the pdf format is fine. I can create my book in pdf but the layout often appears wrong.

I believe that I tried the Pages app and I didn’t like it. I have amnesia and learning anything new is hard.
I’m not sure which app is right for me. I don’t want to pay someone to put my book in Pages. I’m constantly adding my thoughts to my book.

Maybe someone else has experience with other apps for writing books. Thank you for your help. Twerps aren’t evil
