Basic Question, sorry!

Just got my iPad and didn't think I even needed WiFi as I mainly want the iPad for downloading stuff from iTunes and listening/watching it.

I connected it to my PC, it looks like it synced ok in the iTunes store....but when I click on the iTunes icon on the iPad it looks for WiFi. My question is why? iTunes doesn't need the internet (only the store). Surely its possible to watch videos on it when there is no WiFi...I see people doing it on planes all the time!!

What have I missed here?

Ok, I don`t tend to watch video on my iPad so take my help with a grain of salt.

If you have downloaded video from iTunes to the iPad don`t look in iTunes for the video.

Look in "Videos"...

That`s how it works for music.
I download music from iTunes but I listen to it through the iPod app.

Let me know if that works for you.

Because iTunes on your iPad is not the same as iTunes on your computer. On your iPad, the iTunes app is used only to purchase content, not to play music or watch videos. In order to play music or podcasts, you use the iPod app and to watch movies, you use the Videos app. And in order to purchase apps, you go to the App Store.

Yes, it is confusing using the same name for the computer program and the iPad app when they do different things!
