Apple has been going on a bit of a shopping spree this week, it would seem! Following on from reports from its supply chain that it has ordered 15 million iPhone 5s for the launch in September, 9to5 Mac says that DigiTimes is also now reporting that Apple has just put in an order for five million iPad 2 touch sensors to be shipped in July. According to the report, five millio iPad 2 touch sensors were also shipped in June, the bulk of which were supplied by TPK Holding and Wintek at 1.4-1.6 million units respectively, with the remainder supplied by Cando, Sintek Photronic and Chimei Innolux (CMI). As 9to5 Mac notes, this is very good news indeed for Apple, and if its suppliers can keep up with the pace and customers continue to keep buying the iPad 2 in their millions, Apple may well achieve sales of forty million iPads sold in 2011.
