Have you tried closing the app down completely by double pressing the home button twice and closing from there? If that don't work, may be worth uninstalling/reinstalling! Mine works ok on 5.1.

Now this is odd. I am able to update over the wifi when tethered to my mobile device. It must be an internet problem from my ISP. Ive changed my router but cannot update via P.C or wireless! My ISP is SKY in the U.K!

Im Running Mac Lion with firewall off. I do however have sophos running. However, I have never had these problems in the past and I am still able to download music and apps on iTunes!

Ok, so I just called my friend who also has an iPad 2 and is based in the U.K. He managed an update at first attempt! Strange. Now, when trying to restore I'm still getting message "Contacting the iPad software update server..."! HELLLLLP!

Hi All, Im struggling to update my iPad 2 to 5.1 in the UK. When trying to update Via iTunes I'm getting a constant message "Contacting the iPad software update server..." , and if I try via iCloud I get message "An error occurred while checking for a software update"! Anyone else...

I believe the width and height are the same. The New iPad is about 1.5mm thicker though!

Sounds like an idea. To be honest i don't let my two daughters near my iPad 2! When I get the 3 and give the 2 to my wife, I'm sure they will be using it!

Looks like you have to go through the capital expenditure request (wife ) as well! Mind you, mine was easy. All I said is that she can have my iPad 2!

It may be of use to me as I live in London. I just need to find out how I become a beta tester! ;)

LTE is currently being beta tested in London by O2. I believe LTE is aiming to become available at the end of 2012 in the UK.
