The only thing close I've seen for my jailbroken iPad is a transparent dock and then either drag off all the app icons or use blanks with iBlank. But you still essentially have something there, it's not empty space- everything is just invisible. Hope that helps.

Answering my own question and a small FYI to anyone curious... I installed this software on my Asus eeepc 1005HA (with an atom n280cpu) and it worked! My netbooks USB ports can now charge the iPad.

None that I know of and I can't believe Apple hasn't upgraded these apps (iDisk App is iphone size too) to work with the iPad. Maybe they're waiting for the MobileMe changes to take effect.
