I've heard many people say the iPad won't shut off during charging, but when I plug the charger in and turn the iPad off, it stays off. Try it again; there's a possibility the charger came off slightly and was pushed back, thus turning on the iPad.

I charge mine every night. Is that bad for the battery? I know I've seen it mentioned that you should run down the battery all the way and charge it fully once a month and I make sure to do that, but should I charge it every night?
